  About RATANOOGA

RATANOOGA started on the 18th Dec 2005 when a need for more rat-related South African websites arose.

In September 2005, I helped launch a rat website called RASCALS (now The South African Rat Fan Club). I found Maureen online through a pet forum and offered to help build her a website and co-run it. Unfortunately, 3 months later there were disagreements in what stance rat owners should take against snake-owners so myself, Viia, and Mellowmich broke away and founded RATANOOGA - A South African Rat Club.

Unfortunately, more conflict reigned on a personal level between myself and Mellowmich and the smooth working of RATANOOGA was paying the price, so Mellowmich was requested to retired her position as co-founder. She did so in September 2006.

RATANOOGA is now run by Viia and myself and we've been featured in our local newspaper, People's Post, as well as interviewed on CCFm radio!
